Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
The purpose of this document is to provide answers to frequently asked questions
about the FOODMARK® program and Campus Dining, Inc.
A. WHAT IS FOODMARK®?
- FOODMARK® is a confidential clearinghouse for dining service data. It has
developed the process, tools, glossary, criteria, relationships and systems to
support benchmarking communities in dining services.
B. WHO ARE THE TYPICAL CLIENTS?
- Director of Auxiliary Services, Vice President of Finance, Director of Student

C. WHAT TYPES OF SERVICES WILL YOU COMPARE?
- Initially we will start with Board and Retail programs. We believe in taking
short secure steps to build the services and community. Then we will add
Catering, Conference Centers, Concessions, Convenience Stores and other
services as the program develops.
D. CAN WE COMPARE TO OTHER COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES?
- Yes. That is the goal of the program. Many “sorts” have been added to the
data base (student size, geographic, type of institution, affiliation, type of service,
etc.) As the community grows the ability to refine the data pool sorting
will also grow.
E. HOW IS OUR CONFIDENTIALITY PROTECTED?
- We will sign confidentiality agreements with each client. FOODMARK®
is based on the American Productivity and Quality Center Code of Conduct and
the American Society for Quality business guidelines for data sharing. Only
you see your data. The data sharing is provided in aggregate form only.
F. CAN YOU HELP WITH SPECIALIZED REQUESTS AND REPORTS FOR LEADERSHIP?
- Yes. That is a goal of the program. Frequently leadership will request special
information for trustees or business development. FOODMARK®

you.

Auxiliary Services, Financial and Dining Services professionals in the field,
sampled and prepared data base adaptations, participated in trade shows to
conduct surveys, and facilitated focus groups of major colleges and
universities. The need has been clearly identified and the FOODMARK®
program
